The “Mara Strategy” project implementation team, led by the project manager, Dan Cocoșilă, was on a study visit to Spain. The delegation will contact several Spanish European institutions to discover good practices, as well as European experiences in the field of urban planning, spatial planning, GIS, tourism and economic development strategies. At the suggestion of the partner institution, Diputacio de Barcelona, on the first day of the study visit, the implementation team traveled to Vic, where it learned about urban planning focused on ensuring the health of the population through European projects.
The hosts were Gerard Mayol, an official in the European and International Strategies Office of the Barcelona Regional Council, who spoke to the delegation about cooperation between the region and municipalities and Bet Piella, Councilor for Economic Promotion and Trade, who presented Vic’s branding strategy. . The municipal architect, Marta Roffin, presented to the delegation the new master plan of the city on the urban area (POUM) which includes the health component of the population. At the same time, the team visited one of the administrative headquarters of the municipality of Vic, but also the green area where a future promenade of the city is to be developed. In the coming days, the study visit will continue to the institution that governs the region of Barcelona, ”Diputacio de Barcelona”, followed by meetings within the entity (AMB) – Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
